As we all know, the number of coronavirus cases are increasing drastically day by day. So we all need to be aware of the corona cases in our surroundings so that we can be careful when we step out of our house.
Seeing the increasing number of cases the tech giant GOOGLE has announced a new feature for Google Maps. In this feature google will tell us about the nearby corona outbreaks.
- The new feature will show a seven-day average of new covid-19 cases per 100,000 people for the area of the map .
- Google will add color coding feature as well which will help the others to distinguish the density of new cases in the area .
The latest feature in the Google Maps will be known as ‘COVID LAYER’ and it is speculated to show the users important information about the number of corona cases in a particular area which will help people to decide whether or where to go.
Google in its blogspot has said that the users can see all the data about corona in Google Maps after opening it and tapping on the layers button on the top right corner of your phone screen by clicking on the “covid-19 info.”
The corona case data will be visible for 220 countries and all territories that Google Maps supports, along with state or province, county, and city-level data where available.
These sources get information from public health organizations like the World Health Organizations, government health ministries, along with state and local health agencies and hospitals.
