Sony has once again claimed the title of the best-in-class noise cancelling headphones. Sony has introduced Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones, beating its own WH-1000XM3 headphones. Other features like Quick Attention and auto pause/play, multipoint connection, good battery life, and much more makes it a prime choice for the customers. They are obviously a bit over budget but once you use them, you will definitely feel the worth of these noise cancelling headphones.
The MARK 4 has has a classy and sophisticated style that despite its lack of irrelevant flair screams elegance. It has a effective design language. If we keep the WH-1000XM3 and WH-1000XM4 you can’t actually tell them apart.
The new model features the same matte black color with copper accents on the Sony logo and the microphone inlets, same as it’s predecessor. The headband is quite stretchable and is reinforced with steel inside. The left ear cup has an LED light indicator and a USB-C port, the right ear cup houses the power button or the Assistant voice controller.
The headphones have a Wearing detection sensor which senses whether the headphones are on your ears or not, to automatically play or pause the music.
FIT AND COMFORT
The head cushion at the top of the headphones has been cut down slightly to a more streamlined look and feel to the cans. The trimmed down cushions effects the overall comfort of the device negatively.
The ear padding now has a 10% larger surface area for more contact with the head. The increase in surface area provides plush and comfortable padding. The urethane memory foam ear cups are made of a leatherette material and are very comfortable and plush.
The new model has 40mm drivers and the QN1 processor with some tweaks to the sonic signature has changed from the consumer friendly bass bias in MARK 3 to a sound signature that resembles the neutral in Mark 4 . The dynamic and detailed reproduction stays pretty much the same throughout the frequencies due to the shift in the sound signature.
The Sony company has pretty much figured out the ANC game, it has stayed on top of the best ANC headphones lis . Sony has made improvements to the algorithm and have translated to 20% better noise cancelling performance.
Sony has Dual Noise Sensor technology that makes use of two mics placed in each ear cup which detects the noise and adjusts the noise cancelling response more than 700 times per second. It can envelope you in its immersive auditory bubble easily.
The Sony speaker will cost you Rs. 29,990 or $407 approximately. The headphones are available in two basic colors, black and white. These totally dynamic headphones will be available on 18th September, 2020. The pricing of the headphones is a bit too much but they are definitely worth the price .
