The wait for MG Gloster full-size SUV is finally over as it has officially made its debut in India following the unveil of the Hector Plus, at the ongoing Auto Expo 2020. It will be the third SUV to be launched by MG in India.
It is already being sold in China as the Maxus D90 under MG’s parent company, SAIC’s Maxus brand. The Gloster features a tall stance with high ground clearance with its 19-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and gaping grill that covers the front of the car. It comes with three rows of seats. At the rear side it features split taillamp units, connected by a chrome a chrome element. The tailgate features more chrome work and a massive Gloster logo at the bottom. The interior of the car has not been revealed yet by the brand.
MG Gloster in China is equipped with features such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, three-zone climate control and an eight-inch fully digital instrument console. So, we are expecting to see features revolving around the same.
Gloster is a full-sized SUV that will go against the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas and Ford Endeavour. It is slightly bigger than Toyota’s Fortuner.
It is expected to launch in both petrol and diesel engines. It is probably going to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of producing 221bhp and 360Nm of torque. The transmission is a ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic in both cases. It also has a 4-wheel drive system to help get it unstuck when you go off the road.
The MG Gloster will be launched in India in later 2020 or early 2021 and will probably be priced at around 25 Lakhs.
