Reliance JioFibre: Mukesh Ambani reveals FTTH plans
So, finally after waiting for around a year JioFiber has been commercially launched on 5th Sept. Now we know all the key details regarding Mukesh Ambani’s much anticipated fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) service, JioFiber.
Jio Fiber plans will offer Internet speed of up to 1Gbps and starts at just Rs. 699 per month. Jio Fiber was first announced over a year ago.
Jio is offering both monthly and long term plans with JioFiber A basic plan will cost 699 a month offering 150 GB data, while the top plan will cost 8,499 offering 5,000 GB data, the company said on Thursday. It was promised earlier that Jio Fiber will be offered to consumers in 1,600 towns across the country.
Here is a quick view about all the details you need to know about the JioFiber commercial launch. The date September 5 for JioFiber launch was announced during the Reliance Industries 42nd Annual AGM last month.
The customer initially has to make a one-time payment of 2,500 at the time of getting a connection, out of which 1,500 is security deposit and 1,000 for installation which is non-refundable. The customers are also required to buy compatible devices in order to use services such as gaming, home networking, and virtual reality.
According to Reliance Jio, the company will be initially offering a total of six prepaid plans, dubbed as Bronze (Rs. 699 per month), Silver (Rs. 849 per month), Gold (Rs. 1,299 per month), Diamond (Rs. 2,499 per month), Platinum (Rs. 3,999 per month), and Titanium (Rs. 8,499 per month).
JioFiber is also offering free voice calls and video conferencing through a compatible TV and high-speed gaming and content sharing across the home network along with a basic monthly plan for 699 and 100 GB (plus 50 GB of promotional data) at 100 Mbps speed.
The cheapest plans aka Bronze and Silver plans will offer a data speed of 100Mbps, whereas the most expensive plans, Gold and Diamond plans will come with 250Mbps and 500Mbps Internet speeds, respectively. Both Platinum and Titanium plans will provide 1Gbps data speed. Jio Fiber has also promised to provide long-tern 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month plans along with the monthly plans.
In the plan Diamond for 2,499, Platinum for 3,999 and Titanium for 8,499 a month— customer can also enable immersive virtual reality experience and gets access of premium content like first-day-first-show movies and sports content. Jio will also offer free extra high-speed data up to 250GB, depending on the plan, initially.
In fact, JioFiber customers who choose the Jio Welcome offer and buy annual plans above 1,299 a month will get a TV and 4K set-top box free. The Welcome Offer for the cheapest plan also comes bundled with Jio music and cinema. More expensive plans will come bundled with “leading OTT apps”, the company said, although access to apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime as part of the Welcome Offer hasn’t been specified.
Ambani is eyeing 3.5 crore subscriber for this gamechanger and has already got registrations from as many as 1.5 crore homes across 1,600 cities in India.
In order get the Jio fiber you have to visit the Jio official website to register for the Jio Fiber connection. You have to submit the required details like address, name and mobile number. After registration through mobile OTP, a Jio executive will visit your place to verify all information. New subscribers under the preview offer will get the JioFiber services free for two months. As Jio launches the Jio Fiber service commercially, the preview offer subscribers are being notified about the future of the Jio Fiber service for them.
